We investigated the spatial distribution of stress orientations by dividing the region into a central region containing the Philippine fault (PF) and regions to the east and west of the PF. Our stress tensor inversion results show that the sigma(1) axes in the central and eastern regions are WNW-ESE oriented and parallel to the relative plate motion orientations. However, in the western region, the orientations of sigma(1) axes were different. In particular, the orientations of the sigma(1) axes in the southern part (Bohol region) differ substantially (differences exceed approximately 60 degrees) from those of the relative plate motion. Furthermore, the orientations of the sigma(1) axes in the northern part (Mindoro and southwestern Luzon regions) differ by approximately 30 degrees from those found throughout the Philippines. The sigma(1) axes in the Bohol region and the sigma(3) axes in the Mindoro and southwestern Luzon regions are parallel to the strike of the PF. It was demonstrated that our numerical model incorporating slip on the PF and interplate coupling is able to successfully reproduce the features of the observed stress pattern.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10001_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"AMER GEOPHYSICAL UNION","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_10001_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.1002/2015JB012275"}}]},"item_10001_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2169-9356","subitem_source_identifier_type":"EISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Keisuke Yoshida","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nelson Pulido","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Eiichi Fukuyama","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_title":"Unusual stress rotations within the Philippines possibly caused by slip heterogeneity along the Philippine fault","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Unusual stress rotations within the Philippines possibly caused by slip heterogeneity along the Philippine fault","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"40001","owner":"1","path":["1670839190650"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2023-03-30"},"publish_date":"2023-03-30","publish_status":"0","recid":"2717","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Unusual stress rotations within the Philippines possibly caused by slip heterogeneity along the Philippine fault"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-07T10:22:10.328976+00:00"}
