The VLP events occurred repeatedly during a few days prior to caldera formation and essentially vanished following the onset of caldera collapse. Waveform inversions of the pulse-like signals point to a source offset 3.5. km beneath and 1. km south of the summit. A candidate for the source mechanism is the inflation of an elliptical cylinder with axis tilted 20-30° from vertical and major axis of the elliptical cross section oriented northeast-southwest. The inferred mechanism appears consistent with a step-like pressurization of a magma reservoir impacted by a falling rock mass in response to gravitational instability. The repeated occurrences of the rock collapses lead to the caldera formation at Miyake-jima. c 2012 Elsevier B.V.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10001_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.1016/j.epsl.2012.09.039"}}]},"item_10001_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0012-821X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tomokazu Kobayashi","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Takao Ohminato","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yoshiaki Ida","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Eisuke Fujita","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_title":"Intermittent inflations recorded by broadband seismometers prior to caldera formation at Miyake-jima volcano in 2000","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Intermittent inflations recorded by broadband seismometers prior to caldera formation at Miyake-jima volcano in 2000","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"40001","owner":"1","path":["1670839190650"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2023-03-30"},"publish_date":"2023-03-30","publish_status":"0","recid":"2788","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Intermittent inflations recorded by broadband seismometers prior to caldera formation at Miyake-jima volcano in 2000"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-07T10:23:44.526930+00:00"}
