COSMO-SkyMed (CSK), a constellation composed of four Italian satellites equipped with X-band high-resolution SAR sensors, could capture the damage situation from the typhoon Haiyan throughout the event in spite of the frequent cloud cover condition. This study performs the investigation on the devastation in Tacloban City using a Multitemporal Correlation (MTR) map. Then calculate the Hyperboloid Change Index proposed in this study to indicate the effects by the typhoon.
