本研究では2020年の東京五輪のマラソンコースを例に,その温熱環境を把握することを目的として,MRT(平均放射温度)とWBGT(湿球黒球温度)の計算事例を示した。その結果,猛暑日である2015年8月7日の事例では,9時~18時でコース上のすべての地点でWBGTが熱中症の「厳重警戒レベル」とされる28℃以上となった。またコース上にできる影によってWBGTが低下するため, 日陰を選んでコース取りをすることにより,ランナーが体感するWBGTを低く抑えられる可能性が示唆された。
