For these offshore events, we use the NIED F-net focal depth. We detect two low-V zones in the uppermost subducting oceanic crust. The landward low-V zone with a large anomaly corresponds to the western edge of the coseismic slip zone of the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake. The asperities of the previously known Off-Miyagi and Off-Fukushima earthquakes with magnitudes around 7.0 are also located at the boundary of the low-V and the eastern high-V zones. The initial break point (hypocenter) is associated with the edge of a slightly low-V and low-V-p/V-s zone. The trenchward low-V and low-V-p/V-s zone extending southwestward from the hypocenter may indicate the existence of a subducted seamount. The high-V zone and low-V-p/V-s zone might have accumulated the strain and resulted in the huge coseismic slip zone of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake. The low-V and low-V-p/V-s zone is a slight fluctuation within the high-V zone and might have acted as the initial break point of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10001_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"SPRINGER HEIDELBERG","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_10001_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.5047/eps.2011.05.018"}}]},"item_10001_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"1880-5981","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Makoto Matsubara","creatorNameLang":"en"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kazushige Obara","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_title":"The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake related to a strong velocity gradient with the Pacific plate","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake related to a strong velocity gradient with the Pacific plate","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"40001","owner":"1","path":["1670839190650"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2023-03-30"},"publish_date":"2023-03-30","publish_status":"0","recid":"5879","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake related to a strong velocity gradient with the Pacific plate"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-08T09:32:02.898499+00:00"}
