The mock-up, which combines an air-levitation horizontal seismic isolation device with a vertical seismic isolation system composed of a negative-stiffness spring linkage and coil springs, measures 1.3 m × 1.3 m × h 1.0 m and supports a load of 2,000 kg. Shaking tests were conducted using seismic waveforms such as the 1995 Southern Hyogo Prefecture Earthquake.
