The thermal energy released from Teide summit cone by diffuse degassing was 2.2 MW, and the heat flux calculated through Dawson’s method was 8.1 MW, difference due to the comparison of purely convective areas as the crater with diffusive areas as the flanks of the volcano. Diffuse CO\u003cjats:sub\u003e2\u003c/jats:sub\u003e output was \u003cmml:math xmlns:mml=\"http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML\" id=\"M1\"\u003e\u003cmml:mn\u003e211\u003c/mml:mn\u003e\u003cmml:mo\u003e±\u003c/mml:mo\u003e\u003cmml:mn\u003e20\u003c/mml:mn\u003e\u003c/mml:math\u003e t d\u003cjats:sup\u003e-1\u003c/jats:sup\u003e, and \u003cjats:sup\u003e3\u003c/jats:sup\u003eHe emission was estimated to be within a range between 0.35 and 0.89 mol y\u003cjats:sup\u003e-1\u003c/jats:sup\u003e. The obtained values of diffuse degassing and heat fluxes are close to others obtained for similar volcanic areas.
