Snow accretion experiments were conducted in a low-temperature wind tunnel to establish a model in which the accretion rate varies with collision angle. The rate can be conveniently approximated by a quadratic function, reaching its maximum when particles collide perpendicularly and decreasing to zero beyond a critical angle.
