Most of the human casualties in the 2015 Nepal earthquake are concentrated in traditional stone masonry houses in the mountain areas. In the mountain areas where it is difficult to carry construction materials, many people still live in dangerous houses with broken walls even after about three and a half years since the earthquake. In order to reduce such situations, it is necessary to establish an earthquake retrofitting method and inform the local people so that local residents can understand by themselves and implement at a low cost. Therefore, the jacketing method with gabion mesh as a reinforcement method was proposed, and verified its effect by conducting full-scale experiments in this study.
